The Skulls of Hopper Mountain

Every species has different traits. That could be their feathers, fur, color, teeth, feet, and even their behaviors! Some of these traits, like condors soaring, can help with survival. Those traits are called adaptations.

Check out some of the animals that share the Hopper Mountain ecosystem with California condors.

Look closely at the condors beak. It is full of adaptations to help condors ear the tough dead meat they survive on.

Scissor action to slice through meat.
